Les O. Bauska
Underground Target Range

Not open to the general public!  This is a private rifle and pistol range for NWMACA members. (Sorry, no shotguns!)

Members, please, before you head on over to the range, check our online calendar (located below on this page) to see whether it is partially or even completely closed for an event. By the way, if you are interested in learning more about an event on the calendar, clicking on the event might reveal additional details. For example, we try to list contact information for instructors conducting a class at the range, in case a member is interested in enrolling in that class or a future offering.

HEADS UP!  WINTER TRAP LEAGUE SHOOTS BETWEEN 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY EVENING.  FINDING A PARKING SPACE IS DIFFICULT, SO PLAN ON WALKING.  YOU HAVE PERMISSION TO PARK ANYWHERE ON THE 40 ACRES.  WINTER TRAP LEAGUE IS FINISHED AFTER THE FIRST WEEK OF APRIL.

Range Description

After a prospective member has taken a mandatory range familiarization tour with Director Jerry Hill and has paid membership dues, s/he is given an electronic access code and is able to access the range 24/7—as long as the range has not been reserved for an approved event.

Our underground heated ranges feature efficient high volume ventilation systems.

The Pistol range features five 50-foot shooting lanes with target carriers that you can run out to any distance. Behind the shooting stations in the pistol range there is a glassed in gallery and viewing area that is separately heated with two large counters and a table that provide ample surface to get ready to shoot.

The Rifle range is in a separate room and has one 50-yard rifle shooting tunnel and two 100-yard rifle shooting tunnels. The new 100 yard tunnel features four shooting distances-25yds, 50yds, 75yds and 100yds.  A video camera displays the target at each shooting distance so that you can easily see your shot placement.

At ground level, we have restrooms, a meeting room, and a recently updated .22-caliber youth shooting range.
