Curiosity killed the new 100 yard tube…

There are some of us that have grown up doing their best to figure out everything around us.  We have stuck nails in electrical outlets, jumped off roofs and ventured into into this world with little thought of the consequences.

On behalf of American Electric I would like to assure you that there are no operator friendly switches or parts other than the green on/off switch and the distance selector.  Everything else you may encounter with the system is designed to either re-calibrate the system or perform an emergency shut down.  Once the emergency shut down is engaged (the lever that hangs down alongside of the H-beam) the system is inoperable.  The only thing you should do when this happens is press the red off button and call Corky.  The light will stay on, so don’t try to turn it off.

I know this is a lot to ask you plug punchers and roof jumpers, but it is a quick electronic fix to get the system operational.  We have thousands of dollars invested in the electronics.  Please leave the electronics to the professionals.

More to come on the monitor for the cameras.

New 100 yard rifle tube is open for business!

At long last we are open for shooters on the new 100 yard rifle lane.  An orientation has been deemed unnecessary.  Due to the long delays an open house seems anti-climatic.  The operation is by the most conservative description…idiot proof.  So when you are shooting this is what you see.

Off to the right is the green and red Start and Stop Buttons.  The yardage selector is directly overhead on the red beam face.  The instructions are posted on the door to your right.

Call to action

To all NWMACA members:

Greetings! My name is Bubba Gray and I am the Secretary of the gun club. Many of you know me through the club and through the gun shows. For those of you who do not, I have been associated with the gun club for several years now. When I first became a member and began to be involved with gun club activities, the Les Bauska Range was very much in a state of disrepair. While this was no one person’s fault, several of us decided it was time to take action and under President Mosby’s leadership some fantastic improvements have been made. I feel that we now have a facility we can be proud of, however those improvements have come with a price tag.

In the past several years we have rebuilt the bullet trap in the pistol range, we have rebuilt the trap in the .22 range, and we have completed numerous other projects to improve our facility. One of our most important projects, and our most expensive, has been the installation of a new one hundred yard rifle tube. It was a very necessary expenditure and one we all feel will benefit members for years to come. While we planned carefully and budgeted accordingly, many design changes and improvements became obvious as the project progressed leaving us about $13,000 over budget.

This is where you can help. When you pay your dues, or even if you have already paid your dues, any donation you can make will be recognized and greatly appreciated. Our responsibility to our future generations is to pass down a legacy that protects our Second Amendment rights, which we all know have been under attack for a very long time. NWMACA and the Les Bauska Underground Gun Range is a shining beacon in the Flathead Valley for that most sacred cause. With your help, we can keep it that way.

Love / Hate the social media.

I was just informed by Facebook that they rejected our ad for the upcoming gun show Sept 8, 9, 10 after originally approving the ad and running it for a week. The ability to share ideas, events and even the most trivial personal experience on the website is wonderful.  The sad part is how the management at Facebook get to determine which ideas and events are acceptable.  Smacks of KGB level oversight.  I guess I should be grateful we don’t yet have the Gulag here in the Land of the Free.NWMACA Kalispell Gun Show Logo

New 100 yard tube progressing!

Excavation is complete and setting culverts is nearing completion.  We had to close the two 50 yard shooting lanes while we work in the 50 yard bunker.  Hope to have the left hand 50 yard tube temporarily open soon.  We will have to close it down again when we start the electrical and target carrier installation.

Spring Kalispell Gun Show – March 24, 25, 26

I have gotten a jump on picking the door prizes for the Spring Kalispell Gun Show!  You are definately going to want a weekend pass so you have an opportunity to win these two firearms.  I just wanted to share what will be offered:

1.  The 380 caliber has climbed the ladder in favored status with many in the concealed carry crowd and many of the manufacturers are dedicating much development time and marketing time on its behalf.  One such success story is the Ruger LCP II.  Read the reviews of the improvements over the original Ruger LCP https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/ruger-380-lcp-reborn-new-lcp-ii-full-review/.

The new LCP II comes standard with a pocket holster, giving you a carry-ready gun right out of the box.

The MSRP for this bad boy is $349 and Murdoch’s is selling it for $290.  They have been generous in letting us have it at $231.

2.  Remington Rifles released a new 700 series rifle in 2013, the 783 bolt action.  True to form they kept the MSRP affordable yet again delivered a very accurate weapon.

A review in American Rifleman says all you need to know to justify the weekend pass to the gun show The Remington 783.  The model we are giving away will be a 7mm Mag with scope which will have you filling the freezer in no time!

                           The Remington 783

MSRP for this nail driver is only $399 and Murdoch’s is letting us have it for $200.  It has been fired once, returned and then shipped back to factory for repair.

Help us make our Spring Kalispell Gun Show, March 24, 25, 26-2017 the best ever by sharing this with your friends.

Fall 2016 gun show statistics

We just wrapped up our second semi-annual gun show at the fairgrounds.  Records were broken at all levels.  Attendance up 17% – 2003 people through the gate.  Vendor tables up slightly – 101 applicants with 354 vendors working 275 tables.  The statistic that really warms my heart is volunteers up 375% from 4 to 19.  A huge shout out for your help with this very successful show!
